A useful catalog starts with good records
A digital library needs more than a folder of PDFs. Consistent titles, authors, programs and categories make material easier to find. Each record also needs the correct file, and the institution must have permission to make it available.
IOTIC develops institutional libraries with organized resources and access based on user roles. The Americana del Cusco project provides a visual reference for discussing your institution’s catalog and user journeys.

The selection depends on the size of the collection, user roles and how the catalog will be maintained.

- Import workflows with duplicate and missing-file checks.
Prepare the collection and validate access
Start with a sample collection and a table of its metadata. This makes it possible to review filters, mobile reading and the behavior of documents with different file sizes.
Acceptance checks should verify that the reader opens the right document, permissions are respected and audit tools do not remove content without review. Catalog and file backups should be considered together so that the collection can be restored.

Platform development does not automatically include book licenses. The institution supplies or obtains resources with suitable usage rights.
Can an existing catalog be imported?+
Yes, after reviewing its format and files. A sample import is agreed to validate mappings, fields and possible duplicates.
